Shipping policy

At Happy Little Monsters, we aim to make getting your toys as easy and convenient as possible. All orders are shipped using our selected delivery partner, Bobgo Couriers.

By placing an order through our website, you agree to the terms of this Shipping & Delivery Policy.

1. Delivery Partner

Happy Little Monsters uses Bobgo Couriers as our delivery and courier service provider.

Once your order has been processed and handed over to the courier, delivery is managed through the courier network and is subject to their operational procedures, routes and delivery schedules.

2. Delivery Fees

Orders of R1,500 or more qualify for FREE standard delivery within South Africa.

For orders below R1,500, the applicable delivery fee will be displayed at checkout before payment is completed.

Certain remote or outlying areas may be subject to additional courier charges. Where an additional charge applies and is not already reflected at checkout, Happy Little Monsters will contact the customer before dispatch

3. Delivery Time

Our standard delivery time is up to 5 business days from the date your order has been processed and dispatched.

Please note that:

  • Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding South African public holidays.
  • Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will generally be processed on the next business day.
  • Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed unless expressly stated otherwise.
  • Delivery may take longer during peak periods, public holidays, sales, promotions, adverse weather, unforeseen events or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
  • Certain remote or outlying areas may require additional delivery time.

We will make reasonable efforts to ensure that orders are dispatched promptly.

4. Order Processing

Orders will generally be processed after payment has been successfully received and verified.

Happy Little Monsters reserves the right to delay dispatch where:

  • payment has not been successfully received;
  • an order requires verification;
  • the delivery address is incomplete or incorrect;
  • an item is temporarily unavailable; or
  • circumstances outside our reasonable control affect our ability to dispatch the order.

If there is a significant delay in processing your order, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.

5. Delivery Address

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address, including:

  • Full name
  • Street address
  • Suburb
  • City/Town
  • Province
  • Postal code
  • Contact telephone number

Happy Little Monsters cannot be held responsible for delivery problems caused by an incorrect, incomplete or outdated address supplied by the customer, to the extent permitted by law.

Additional delivery charges may apply if a parcel needs to be redirected because incorrect delivery information was provided.

6. Tracking

Where tracking information is available, customers will receive the applicable tracking information once their order has been dispatched.

Customers should use the tracking information to monitor the progress of their delivery.

If tracking indicates that a parcel has been delivered but the customer has not received it, the customer should contact Happy Little Monsters as soon as possible so that we can investigate the matter with Shipping Agency.

7. Delayed Deliveries

Although our normal delivery time is up to 5 business days, delays can occasionally occur.

These may include:

  • courier network delays;
  • incorrect or incomplete address information;
  • unsuccessful delivery attempts;
  • weather conditions;
  • traffic or road closures;
  • public holidays;
  • peak-season demand;
  • operational disruptions;
  • unforeseen events; or
  • other circumstances outside Happy Little Monsters' reasonable control.

Happy Little Monsters will make reasonable efforts to assist customers where a delivery is delayed.

A delay does not automatically constitute a cancellation or refund unless a customer has a right to cancel or obtain a remedy under applicable South African law.

8. Lost, Missing or Misdelivered Parcels

Happy Little Monsters uses a third-party courier service to deliver orders.

If a parcel appears to be lost, missing or incorrectly delivered, customers should contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

We will make reasonable efforts to communicate with the shipping agent and investigate the delivery status.

However, Happy Little Monsters cannot guarantee the actions, delivery times or operational performance of an independent third-party courier and will not be responsible for losses, delays or failures caused solely by the courier or circumstances outside our reasonable control, to the extent permitted by South African law.

Nothing in this section excludes or limits any consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded under South African law.

Where applicable law requires Happy Little Monsters to provide a remedy because goods have not been delivered or remain at our risk, we will comply with that legal obligation.

9. Proof of Delivery

The shipping agent may provide proof of delivery, which may include a signature, delivery confirmation, photograph, electronic confirmation or other delivery record.

Customers should ensure that the parcel is accepted by the correct person at the delivery address.

Once delivery has been confirmed as accepted by the customer or an authorised person at the delivery address, Happy Little Monsters will generally regard the order as delivered, subject to any applicable consumer rights.

10. Incorrect or Damaged Delivery

Customers should inspect their parcel when it arrives.

If the parcel appears visibly damaged, customers should, where reasonably possible:

  1. Photograph the parcel before opening it.
  2. Photograph any damage to the packaging.
  3. Photograph the product and its packaging after opening.
  4. Contact Happy Little Monsters as soon as reasonably possible.

If you receive the wrong product, a materially damaged product or an order with missing items, please contact us so that we can investigate and provide the appropriate remedy where required by law.

11. Customer Responsibility After Delivery

Customers are responsible for ensuring that someone is available to receive the parcel at the nominated delivery address.

If a customer provides permission for a parcel to be left at a specific location or with a third party, the customer acknowledges the risks associated with that arrangement, subject to applicable South African law.

Customers should not provide delivery instructions that expose the parcel to unnecessary risks such as weather, theft or damage.

12. Failed Delivery Attempts

If delivery cannot be completed because:

  • nobody is available to receive the parcel;
  • the address is incorrect or incomplete;
  • the recipient refuses delivery;
  • the courier cannot access the delivery location; or
  • the customer cannot be contacted,

The shipping agent may attempt to arrange another delivery or return the parcel to the sender in accordance with its procedures.

Additional delivery or re-delivery charges may apply where the failed delivery resulted from information or actions attributable to the customer, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Delivery to Remote Areas

Some areas in South Africa may require additional delivery time or may be subject to additional courier charges.

Where an additional charge applies, Happy Little Monsters will communicate this to the customer where reasonably possible before dispatch.

14. Force Majeure

Happy Little Monsters will not be responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • natural disasters;
  • severe weather;
  • floods;
  • fires;
  • strikes;
  • civil unrest;
  • road closures;
  • government restrictions;
  • power or telecommunications failures;
  • courier network disruptions;
  • pandemics or similar events; or
  • other unforeseen circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

We will nevertheless make reasonable efforts to minimise delays and assist customers where possible.

15. Delivery Risk and South African Law

Happy Little Monsters aims to comply with all applicable South African consumer-protection legislation.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

Where South African law places responsibility or risk on Happy Little Monsters before delivery or provides a customer with a particular remedy for non-delivery, delayed delivery, defective goods or another issue, the applicable legal requirement will take precedence over this policy.
